【摘要】:Thistestmethodisdesignedspecificallyforemulsionsofpesticideemulsifiableconcentrates.Thistestmethodprovidesinformationontheabsorption/adsorptionofsolventsbysimulatedorganicsoilandinorganicsoilimpactedbypesticideECemulsionapplications.Theamountofsolventlostbyvolatilizationat40x00BA;Casdeterminedbythismethodisanindirectmeasureoftheatmosphericavailabilityofthesolventtopotentiallyreactwithnitrogenoxidestoformtroposphericozone,amajorairpollutant.1.1Thistestmethodsimulatestheapplicationofanemulsionofapesticideemulsifiableconcentrate(EC)tosoilwithhighorganicmatter(corncobgranules)andtosoilwithhighinorganicmatter(claygranules)anddeterminestheamountofsolventretainedbythegranules,andwithheldfromtheatmosphere,beforeandafterexposureto40x00BA;Cinaventedoven.Thegranulessimulatetwoextremesofsoilcomposition,andthe40x00BA;Cexposuresimulateshightemperatureweathering.Solventlossfromorganicsubstratesotherthancorncobmayalsobedeterminedbyrepeatingthe40x00B0;Cexposuretestswiththechosensubstratereplacingcorncob.Theresultswithcorncob,however,areareferencethatmustbereportedwiththealternatesubstrateresults.Thedifferenceinsolventcontentofthegranulesbeforeandafterweatheringisanindicationoftheemissionofthesolventfromsoilimpactedbyemulsionsorsolutionsduringpesticideapplicationsusingcommonpracticessuchassprayinganddripirrigating.Analysisofthegranulesforsolventcontentisbyhighpressureliquidchromatography(HPLC),gaschromatography(GC),orothermethodstestedandproventobeaccurateandreproducible.Note18212;Sinceitevaluatessoilsurfacesorption,thistestmethodwillunderestimatesoilsorptionfrompesticideapplicationsmadebelowthesoilsurface.Sub-soilsurfacetreatmentsmayinclude,butarenotlimitedto,mechanicalsoilinjectionandsoilincorporationapplications.Inthesecases,theincreaseddepthofthesub-soiltreatmentsreducethesoilsurfaceexposureandfacilitateincreasedlevelsofsoilsorption.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
