【摘要】:Excessivelevelsofhydrogensulfideinthevaporphaseaboveresidualfueloilsinstoragetankscanresultinhealthhazards,violationoflocaloccupationalhealthandsafetyregulations,andpubliccomplaint.AnadditionalconcerniscorrosionthatcanbecausedbythepresenceofH2Sduringrefiningorotheractivities.ControlmeasurestomaintainsafelevelsofH2SrequireaprecisemethodforthemeasurementofpotentiallyhazardouslevelsofH2Sinfueloils.(Warning8212;Safety.Hydrogensulfide(H2S)isaverydangerous,toxic,explosiveandflammable,colorlessandtransparentgaswhichcanbefoundincrudeoilandcanbeformedduringthemanufactureofthefuelattherefineryandcanbereleasedduringhandling,storage,anddistribution.Atverylowconcentrations,thegashasthecharacteristicsmellofrotteneggs.However,athigherconcentrations,itcausesalossofsmell,headaches,anddizziness,andatveryhighconcentrations,itcausesinstantaneousdeath.Itisstronglyrecommendedthatpersonnelinvolvedinthetestingforhydrogensulfideareawareofthehazardsofvapor-phaseH2Sandhaveinplaceappropriateprocessesandprocedurestomanagetheriskofexposure.)Thistestmethodwasdevelopedsorefiners,fuelterminaloperators,andindependenttestinglaboratorypersonnelcanrapidlyandpreciselymeasuretheamountofH2Sinresidualfueloilsanddistillateblendstocks,withaminimumoftraining,inawiderangeoflocations.TestMethodD5705providesasimpleandconsistentfieldtestmethodfortherapiddeterminationofH2Sintheresidualfueloilsvaporphase.HoweveritdoesnotnecessarilysimulatethevaporphaseH2SconcentrationofafuelstoragetanknordoesitprovideanyindicationoftheliquidphaseH2Sconcentration.TestMethodD6021doesmeasuretheH2SconcentrationofH2Sintheliquidphase,howeveritrequiresalaboratoryandaskilledoperatortoperformthecomplexprocedureandcalculations,anddoesnotofferanyreproducibilitydata.Thistestmethod(D7621)offersa15minautomatedtest,simplicity,fullprecision,andadegreeofportability.H2Sconcentrationsintheliquidandvaporphaseattempttoreachequilibriuminastaticsystem.However,thisequilibriumandtherelatedliquidandvaporconcentrationscanvarygreatlydependingontemperatureandthechemicalcompositionoftheliquidphase.Theequilibriumofthevaporphaseisdisruptedthemomentaventoraccesspointisopenedtocollectasample.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureforthedeterminationofthehydrogensulfide(H2S)contentoffueloilssuchasmarineresidualfuelsandblendstocks,intherange0.40to15.0mg/kgasmeasuredintheliquidphase.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicableformaterialswithaviscosityupto3000mm2s-1at50x00B0;C.Note18212;ASTMspecificationfuelsfallingwithinthescopeofthistestmethodare:SpecificationD396GradeNos5(light),5(heavy)and6.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandheal......
